[Rhodes22-list] Flat Tax Anyone? Tossing ball back to Slim (political rant)

Slim:

I believe that the top is 36%? I did not look this up, just hearsay.

A flat tax proposal had a substantial minimum income with very
subsantial dependent allowances to take care of Rummy's concern. Then the
real estate lobbies yelled foul.

I have not looked up Dave's rant about the top 1%. However, the
multiplier effect that created the economy we now enjoy was by them and the
next 9%. I suspect that 75 to 80% of the members of this list qualify for
the 10% number. I would exclude Stan since he gives it all away. If Rummy
still pays that amount of yearly taxes, it would include him. 27,000 is 36
percent of what number? You do the math.

I have had the good fortune to associate with some of that 1% that
Dave is so against. My brother likes to email copies of forms that insiders
must file with the SEC. One of the guys I have the honor to know files a
bunch of those things each month. Recently, my brother emailed me with the
names of the creditors committee of a major company in bankruptcy
reorganization. What was this guy doing on that committee?

This fellow is Stan’s contemporary, only he retired years ago.
Or so you would have thought so or at least I did. My point is that these
guys who have created companies are special people.

They are not bureaucrats, nor do they think like Dave and others
envious of their wealth. Now I admit, I am envious of their abilities.
While I was not dealt their hand, I am appreciative of the opportunity to
support them.

Whether these guys are business people, doctors, politicians,
learn to respect those who God dealt a special hand. The overwhelming
majority of them make the world a better place for us ordinary folks. Quit
trying to steal the results of their abilities. Quit supporting those that
advocate doing so. Oppressive taxes are just a form of stealing.
