[Rhodes22-list] Newspapers - Brad - Slim

Ed,

(sigh, where to start) The Star Tribune was not managed by a "journalist"
at all. Gary Pruitt, the CEO of MaClatchy is a cold-hearted, bottom-line
bean counter, right wing republican, union-bashing, tax-dodging,
corner-cutting, strip and flip, card-carrying conservative.

The focus used to be on the newsroom. Now the focus is on marketing and
circulation. And at the personal level the focus is not political at
all--it's simply survival.
