[Rhodes22-list] BVI bareboat

My wife and I joined another couple (Eddie and Gail) about 6 years ago in the 
BVI's. We leased a Beneteau 43.

The area was magnificent! We had the Ample Pantry provision the boat prior to 
arrival to include an ample supply of rum. We met for pre-trip planning 
several times before the journey. 

Here's where the problem came in..... Eddie was a chain smoker. Eddie also 
was a loud snorer. Eddie was also extremely obnoxious and rude. Eddie was the 
captain.

Any suggestions from Gail, Su or myself were ignored. We went where Eddie 
wanted to go and when. Eddie was in charge and the rest of us were along for the 
ride. They were actually good friends of ours before that trip, and we chose 
to avoid confrontation during the 10 day trip. Our issues with Eddie 
overshadowed the rest of the trip.

Thus, choose your boat mates carefully. Some couples we know travel together 
year after year without difficulty. However a 43 foot boat becomes very small 
after a couple   of days.
