[Rhodes22-list] Marvel Mystery Oil

Ed & Bill,

I always thought that Marvel Mystery Oil was made in Port Chester or Rye NY,
just west of the CT border. Isn't that closer to you, Bill?

I use MMO for all sorts of great stuff. It provides a better corrosion
resistance for tools than WD40, although it isn't available in a spray can.
I usually have a rag saturated in MMO around just to wipe tools with. When
I worked in a machine shop, we always placed the metal to be machined in a
tray with MMO prior to cutting. I never knew (or asked) what was in the
stuff but it smells like mineral oil but it is a characteristic red color.

At the end of the season I squirt some into the outboard spark plug hole to
prevent cylinder corrosion.
