But I am here to tell you not all marinas are listed. There is a map
'Coastal Expeditions Map' -http://www.coastalexpeditions.com that shows all
public ramps and canoe and kayak throw-ins.

How close to downtown Charleston do you want to be? For example in Mt.
Pleasant there is Shem Creek where there is an accessible public ramp.
Unfortunately you have to go out under a non opening bridge. You would have
to wait to raise your mast until you are by all the reataurants. Maybe you
could talk a shimper into letting you tie up for a couple days. Or convince
him that you are a small sail driven shimper.
