You know I signed up for the Rhodes 22 mailing list at Stan's suggestion a couple of months ago to find out more about new equipment, sailing experiences and how the newer Rhodes have been upgraded since I bought and have sailed mine since '83.
Most of the correspondence been on the Site has been political mouthing off - just like the "ding-a-lings who call into the radio talk shows to hear themselves talk, but in case of the Site, to write.
Come on Guys - give it a rest!
Although I agree with most of the points on Iraq and the Washington Administration, I hate to have to delete 40-50 messages of pure bullshit from my junk mail every day where my Rhodes 22 mail now goes. I have to look at the Junk to see if I recognize the senders who inquire or answer about Rhodes 22 topics on the Site.
Their Mail goes into the Rhodes 22 "Keep" file. Topics such as furling mains, travelers, solar panel and installation, spinnakers and whisker poles are valuable and appreciated.
The rest of you can go hire a soapbox!!

Dave,
The change I'd like to see is the primaries grouped closer together so
states like Iowa and New Hampshire don't have influence well beyond their
size. You'd see ethanol hit the skids in the marketplace if every
Presidential candidate didn't have to pay homage to the Corn God.
Now on other issues - politics does indeed make for strange bedfellows.
Wally will be glad to hear that Harold Ford, Jr. will be the likely
opposition to Lamar Alexander in TN this fall. I've been writing Alexander
every day this week, encouraging him not to go wobbly on Iraq. If he does,
I'll throw my support behind Ford. I almost voted for him anyway. There is
an element of us conservatives who are ready to take a scorched earth policy
on Iraq and it is gaining momentum. No other issue comes anywhere near the
importance. Dave can beat his chest all he wants. There may be an "ass
whup'n" coming to the GOP and it won't come from the Donkeys.
