just so y'all know sail magazine is running a mini series called "the boats we sail".....second installment this month dealt with the "boats of the 70's". blaming the '73 oil embargo for a sea change in boat buyer marketing, it went on to tell about how everyman was enabled to join the sailing community by way of the mass marketing of trailer sailers. at the end of the article it refers to the r22 as a "RELIC, still in production". they should get a lot of letters to the editor on this one. i don't want to get the list upset but it had to come out.
