Rob, yes indeed it is screwed into the plywood core with a couple of ss
screws.

Chris,
Is the chain plate screwed in?  The plate that I can see (pictures next
week) is just a flat piece of steel with a hole in the end of it.  I wonder
if that hole hooks onto something that's screwed into the plywood core?  -
