[Rhodes22-list] What Spreader Shims ??

I stored the mast in a garage this winter and had to remove the spreaders..
I do not remember any shims.. I did notice some teflon tape on the inside of
the spreader tubed.. Where are these shims supposed to be and were some
masts made without them ??
