Here's our plan for the summer - there is a restaurant/bar that 
overlooks my local launch area.  It has deck seating, so you can sit 
outside and watch the fun.  Then we got this crazy idea <evil 
grin>.  On Sunday afternoon, we're going to get 3-6 friends together 
and grab one of the outdoor tables with some beers and a stack of 
numbered placards.  As each boat comes out, we're going to score them 
Olympic-style.  This will be easily visible to everyone in the launch 
area.  The question is - how long before we get the crap beat out of us?

BTW - Slim, you would have gotten high marks for the excellent, 
death-defying recovery. :-)
