Consider this electrifying concept - place your battery, get a cig lighter 'clip on' connector to the posts, and install male ends on any equipment to be used.  I am using this on my bilge pump 'automatic' mode until I can fish a wire to the mail panel.  More equipment - use a Y connector.  This simplicity is good for peace of mind!
