Bob Skinner asked, "I like the look of tanbark sails, but did not suspect
that they have different functional
characteristics. Are you saying that tanbark sails last longer than white
ones? And what is the tanbark "style" that you refer to."
Bob,
Tankbark refers to a dye used originally to color cotton used in sails
and today is a dye used in dacron. It was alleged to originally used to add
UV resistance to cotton. Style is old fashioned, you know like like an old
school socialist who does not understand captialism as the basis for freedom
and human growth.
