[Rhodes22-list] repowering Fretless

Rummy
well taken. I do want a remote that is forward of the laz area.
Mounting the T handle on the tiller is out of the question and since
my motor mounts to the port side, like many, I would want the
controls as accessible as possible. I'm thinking of having them
UNDER the seat and possibly swiveling out for use and back when not
used. Even if they were stationary, I would cover the throttle and
shift control with either a hard plastic custom cover or something
made from thin wood to keep from getting hung up on them.

Since I am (obviously) still in the pre planning stages for this
modification, I may even opt to extend them all the way to the
bulkhead of the cabin just to the portside of the centerboard pennant
to keep them more out of my way. I do want them in what I call "the
bridge area" of the cockpit. They would almost fit inside the port
gunwhale compartment where we store our winch handles, but that would
require cutting away more laminate under neath for the mount and I am
not sure how much room there would be to control the shifter and
throttle...

My two cents worth: Mounting the engine controls on the seat edge is not
