Sheldon,

Do you have the new style IMF or the conventional IMF.  If you have the
conventional IMF, your idea should work.  In your climate, I would rap a
piece of plastic aroung the part of the sail that extends and tie off with
line to protect from ice.

Why not put boat on trailer and come south.  Don't you need to get away from
the 'Eagles'?
