Robert in Maine here:
I remove rigging, set up a knock-down PVC frame,
cover completely w/ tarp, close ends of tarp. I
still get some snow blown up under the tarp, but
most of it sublimes.
I check for water in the cockpit occasionally in
case the errant leaf clogs a scupper. No
problem so far.
Bilge is kept DRY to prevent freeze-thaw damage
Slim aludes to.
As the boat is kept near my house, I plan to put
a small (3") fan in the bilge to a 2" vacuum hose
out thru a main hatch substitute board to keep
the inside fresh.
