Good article, thanks for the link.
I'm with you on this. IF ethanol could be produced reliably from
something we can grow here besides our food, I would be all for it. It
just makes NO sense though, to burn up our lunch.
Of course, most of the farmers think this is a great deal (more demand
AND a subsidy) and I suppose that's what keeps the politicians behind it.
I'm afraid though, that if we are gonna' run the country, or the world,
on ethanol, we better figure out some ways of having to supply a MUCH
smaller population. Hmmmm ..... we seem to be headed in the opposite
direction there. In fact, nobody seems to be talking about this at all.
All the corn in the world ain't gonna' supply fuel AND lunch. Hell, a
good share of the world doesn't have enough to eat now.
