Well, Ed, I follow the maxim that the water stays outside the boat. In that case, it's not hard.
At least my head is not buried where yours is.

And ,uh, Ed, I would think that winds of 12-14k & 2-3' waves were quite a decent intro for these novice sailors. Dan did a great job keeping the boat on course with quartering seas. Since you have no knowledge of this area or of the evening's conditions, you are not one to judge if it was a sufficient demo or not.

Perhaps they will make the other trek when their schedules allow...

Dan,

You are test sailing in the wrong waters. You need to either make an
appointment to sail with Captain Rummy or with Commodore Spitzer. Both
would do demo sails on Saturday or Sunday. An actual demonstation of shoal
draft is not not sailing...

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you
didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away
from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.
Discover.” Mark Twain

We can't change the angle of the wind....but we can adjust our sails.
