Ron,
In a pinch, just unfurl the main a fourth or a third of the
way along the boom, depending on how much wind there is.
A more
stable arrangement is a triangular sail about 3 feet on a side with a
groumet in each corner. Attach it at the end of the boom, using the
topping lift line to hold it up.
