Ed,
Please follow the directions of the manufacturer of the paint. Boat wash
products may contain waxes which is no good for paint. Also, while acetone
is usually good as a preparation, it is by no means universal. Some paints
require a toluene (or the older version, toluol) solvent wash. Remember,
this stuff is all REAL TOXIC. Chemical respirators, gloves and paint suits
MUST be worn.
