Mike:

Wire tie is generic for nylon wire tie available in many brands. As to UV,
try the black ones from Home Depot in the wire department. Yes mine only
lasted four years. Again, you guys are apprently affraid to step the mast
on a Rhodes 22. Mike must leave his up during the winter? What is there to
replacing a wire tie holding a small block every couple of years?

Check the archives for uses of wire ties... We used to have a Rhodie who
used them for all kinds of applications... He and Rummy used to have it out
about using them... Maybe that is why he left, may he sail in peace.

Yes, a nylon wire tie will work easily for several years.

And what is there to putting a small pad eye up the mast?

This is what a liberal education has done to Americans. Affraid to do
anything.

An electric drill will drill two holes in a mast in short order. Tap the
holes and use machine screws with anti seeze and it will outlive the boat.

It seems that creeping socialism has done away with initiative and gumption.
