Brad:
When I use this method of storage, I use the port side. On my boat there
are two gray clips that retain the door upright.
You will have to get a specific answer from Commodore Spitzer about whether
door hinge is up or down. I put my hinge up and handle facing center. I do
not know if my way is correct, Stan never showed me nor was it ever stored
there when I was around Stan so that I could see how he did it.
But it does fit securely and is out of the way. You might try figuring this
out at between 3 to 4 AM. That is probably the time of night that Stan
figured it out.
In the way back archives this has been discussed several times. That is how
I learned where it goes. Maybe Stan needs to print an addendum to his
instructions.
But before he prints instructions, he will probably go to a quad fold door
with a motor that with a flip of the switch puts the door away.

Addendum: The Marxist prediction of a revolution that would bring about
this good society rested on the assumption that the condition of the working
classes would grow ever worse under capitalism. But by the early twentieth
century it was clear that this assumption was completely wrong. Indeed, the
reverse was occurring: As wealth grew through capitalist means, the standard
of living of all was improving. Rev. Robert A. Sirico
