[Rhodes22-list] A heads up before hitting the send key

I quit the list before the election because I
knew that the list would be flooded with posts that I did not particularly
want to read. I came back hoping that there would be some balance,
but that has not occured. Things are becoming increasingly more polarized
and mean spirited.
It is a shame. I have been on the list for a long time, although I have not
been
not very active. I tend to post when I can contribute - which, giving my
sailing
expertise is not all that often. I really don't have the time or inclination
to respond
to the constant political diatribes and I didn't join the list to be
insulted.
It's too easy to be disrespectful when you are not in personal contact,
that's
a problem with the net and these sort of lists, and why some ban politics.
