Well, to be frank, I did not put words in your mouth, I repeated your
own words back to you. But your clarification does help. I think though,
that you missed the point, and it's the same point Brad is going to make.
No one is complaining about Brad helping people, or Ed, or Bill, or even
Rummy. The complaint is about the "caustic tone". And the truth is that
the caustic tone existed a LONG time ago, and it didn't originate with
Ed, or Bill, or Brad, or myself. It was here when I came along, and it
was here when Brad came along (I think I was here before him, but I'm
not sure). What has changed was that previously, most of the "caustic"
stuff was directed from one side to the other. Now that both sides are
volleying, one side doesn't like it wants to yell "foul".
And JB had it spot on, politely insulting someone is no better than
saying it outright. Calling someone an ass is no worse than calling them
a "school yard bully".
One final note on this topic. Bill, we can protest to our heart's
content, but the person who controls the domain name controls the list.
I'm disappointed in THAT tone, I thought Michael was a bigger than that,
but that IS the bottom line.
And, I'm really going to bow out now for a while, and watch from the
sidelines.
