Thanks to rummy I think I got it (if this goes through)

per Rummy's instructions I the mail server preference and changed it to Outlook Express.

I went to My pictures and picked the enclosed picture and hit the e-mail file icon on the left drop down menu.

if this goes through as a readable sized picture there may be something to drinking your self silly after all.
