Hank,
  I installed mine by utilizing space under the sink for the body,  while 
permitting the foot pedal tip to protrude from a small cutout near the  floor. It 
is permanently attached to the floor and has never failed in over 5  years... 
I believe it is a Whale model. , my electric pump failed twice...  perhaps 
it's salt air or hard water???   It's a four screws two hose  clamp 
installation. Plus the slit cutout.  It's so much more  convenient.   Burt.
