Robert Laddy,
Perhaps I told ya the story of one of my crossings from Anchorage, Alaska
over the pole to Prestwick, Scotland on to London, but this time, we stayed
in Prestwick in the hotel on one of the courses where the British Open is
played. I hiked into town, Troooooooon, and ordered what I thought I
thought was a sophisticated enough scotch for the environs. Nope. The
locals schooled me.
Fast forward a few years. My builder buddy's son owns a liquor store here
and he gave me a bottle of scotch that cost $130 wholesale (the experience
of drinking it wiped out the memory of the brand). We were at the home of
the VP of my wife's department a few years back and he loved scotch. "Joe,
we'll pour one drink apiece from this special stash and save the rest for a
special occasion". Apparently, the rest of that night was pretty special.
It's illegal to ship liquor across state lines or otherwise I'd oblige MJM.
I'll be back in NYC soon enough. Paybacks are hell!
