Not only were we having fun, but ...
That pic was taken very shortly after the second, and worse, of two severe T
storms rolled through Edenton. Mary and I were taking a stroll after riding
out the storm in NC5040X. The funny thing is, while we rode the storm out
in the Rhodes (pardon the alliteration), the occupants of all but one of
those "little" boats keeping us company sat the storm out in the
dockmaster's office. I wanted to see how the Rhodes did in the blow and be
on hand if our tie downs, err docklines, gave out. Mary decided to stay
too. While the pop top windows did "pop up" and cause us to have to use
towels to keep the driving rain out, that was the worst that happened. The
Rhodes got pushed around a good bit by what I'd guess were 50+ kts wind
gusts, but we never felt insecure. The view of the storm rolling through
from the protection of the pop top enclosure was pretty spectacular. Also,
that pic was taken about 30 seconds before Stan showed up to check on us in
case we had gotten soaked in the first storm!
Stan .... I'll burn a CD of the full set of pics we took that weekend and
drop it in the mail. There's too many to do the email thing. The folder's
about 135 MB.
