I'll add that I've been using a rule to automatically delete posts
with "politics" in the subject line for some time. Maybe I miss the
occasional amusing insight, but mostly, I just miss the posts that
don't interest me. The list members are really good about correct
labeling. Give it a try, and see if you don't want to stick around.

Ron,
If you're too busy to sort through the list, have it sent to a
separate
mailbox but don't use this cop-out:
"The list is becoming saturated by political attacks, some
reasoned,
but many which are echos of the politics of hate and fear which
have
become the norm, *especially among our Republican friends*"
Waaaaaay! You've given as well as you've taken and there aren't but
a
handful of Republicans on the list so if you want to go into the
"turtle"
mode until the election is over, just say so. "Hate and fear" is
all about
perception and "you ain't no saint".
If you want to pick-up your bat, and ball, and glove, and head for
another
diamond then do so. The "spirit" of da' list is a sailors bar and I
suspect
you'll want a beer with your 'friends' sooner rather than later.
