[Rhodes22-list] Edenton, North Carolina to Washington state...

Caesar,
Been out for a couple of days, just catching up. I towed my boat from St.
Louis to southwest Virginia, so I covered part of the ground you will be
covering. I've got a Grand Cherokee with a V8, tow package, and my
transmission had a transmission cooler. Going through WVa is a bit of a
challenge. My vehicle handled the trip quite well, but my maximum speed was
60mph, probably because I didn't have enough tongue weight. Going that slow
was a challenge and I tried to stay off the roads when and where traffic
would be heavy. My trailer does not have brakes so I was very careful to
leave plenty of stopping distance and to get on the brakes early. That type
of trip is mentally taxing (to me anyway, first time I had towed something
that big for so long), so take your time, take plenty of breaks, and don't
try to stay on a set schedule if you can't stay alert. Keep an eye on your
temp gauge and let your vehicle rest too. Good luck and enjoy your boat! -
rob

Good information Ed; just the kind insights I'm looking for.

What size of motor did you use to scale High Point, and what do you
recommend?
Thanks.
Caesar
