John,

At this time I choose not to specifically reply to which of the following is
more or most important, religion, ethics, politics, et al. However, without
a supportive political system, ethics, religion, personal freedoms and
responsibilities can not and do not exist.

Acquire a copy of the United States Constitution and study it. It speaks of
religion and property, etc., but again, where does it say humanitarian
causes are the responsibility and function of the government?

I have said it often, socialism kills freedom and individual responsibility.
Socialism has been tried in many locations in the last century since Engle’s
and Marx’s writings. When we currently hear the term Fascism, most fail to
comprehend that the term originally was nickname for a socialist regime,
specifically a national socialist system. What were the results of that
socialist system? What makes you and Chris and others believe the end
results of imposing socialism on America will yield different results?

Both national political parties are allowing creeping socialism. It sounds
good and feels good to many. The National Democratic Party is more
aggressively advocating socialism thru both current candidates for
President.

There are those on this forum who believe that a national health insurance
program or minimum floor for medical care is the right thing. First, I look
at the situation from years on the inside. I have a friend, a Republican,
who is a Medical Doctor. I have worked along side many doctors and have
some experience that allows me to say that my friend is not only good, but
exceptionally good.

I know that he supports government programs for all the reasons expressed in
the past on this forum. That does not make him right. He is mixing up his
very religious background, his concern for others, high medical expertise
and what the government is supposed to do. In the United States government
controlled medical care is not a constitutional mandate. In Greece it may
be, and those who like the Greek system, just maybe ought to go there?

Because the government is supposed to supply a minimum level of medical care
does not mean, guarantee that it will be supplied. Bureaucracies are
organizations not known for their efficiencies, fairness nor continued
achievements. Creating government bureaucracies creates monsters that use
resources (economic term is wealth). They do not guarantee good, positive
results. They become self serving and self perpetuating not comprehending
that they are there to serve.

They become small dictatorships which allow bigger dictatorships, such as
Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc. Read history to see those examples.

There are those herein advocating change. Changing to socialism is not the
best answer when you study past results. We still have the freedom and
availability of books, read some history of the last 150 years.
