I re read the original post and rescind my first comment. I did not realize
stan was making both styles of mast at the time.    

Hi Thom,

 If the NY boat you are looking at has the standard main it is probably
older than the 83 in SC.If you like the 83, Find out what paints he used so
if you ever decide to re do the boat you will have an easier time finding
compatible products. Have fun, boat hunting is always great sport.
