It was said that, “We can hope that Obama can calm the fears and tame the
chaos of an economy headed for the dumpster.” Hope is never a substitute
for leadership. The recent demonstration of failure of economic
understanding in Washington is not a good indication.
Socialism, aka Marxism, Progressivism, Rockefeller Republicanism and all its
other names is a disincentive for human initiative. Only people make wealth
and if they have no incentives then they will sit it out.
It should be noted that international capital is looking for a home anywhere
it can find it and unfortunately it is not in USA.
Then it was said, “We will also see if he can extricate us gracefully from
Iraq and succeed in bringing down the terrorist franchises.” The two parts
of this thought are opposed to each other. You cannot succeed in bringing
down terrorist without confronting it. Look at the history of appeasement
prior to World War II.
Also, recent comments about tone and language on this forum are inconsistent
with the history of this forum and attempts to hijack this forum need to be
confronted. Failure to do so will cause this forum to cease.
“Bawdy jokes are O.K. if they’re really good.” Antonin Scalia
