Herb,
If Obama were born in Hawaii it would appear he had 3 citizenships, US
by virtue of his place of birth; English because his father had
commonwealth status; and Indonesian by virtue of his attendance at
Indonesian schools at which his citizenship was stated as Indonesian.
Indonesia required citizens of other countries to give up all other
citizenships before they could enjoy the benefits of Indonesian
citizenship -- like passports and schooling.
Obama could have reclaimed his American Citizenship, as many on this
list have reported they have done, but it does not appear he has done
so. This step, and officially changing his name back to "Barack Hussein
Obama" would seem to be the minimum requirements for running and serving
as "President Barack Hussein Obama".
There would remain the question of "natural born citizen", but
reclaiming name and citizenship would seem to be necessary first. There
is no indication he has done either.
When Republicans indicated an interest in running citizen Arnold
Schwarznegger for President Democrats let them know in no uncertain
terms that only "natural born citizens" need apply for the job of
President.
The current situation is commonly referred to as "repayment in kind."
