Ed,
Look at the picture of the cockpit in the same series of pictures. At 
the top you can see the t-track on the gunnel. At the forward end is 
a cleat - presumably one that slides on the track. Don't know the 
answer to Bill's question about how well the cleat would stand up to 
loads. It would probably be fine for stepping ashore when docking - 
not sure about it as a spring line under load.
