[Rhodes22-list] food for thought

It came from long term back and forth with Pete. I thought the "cleverly
worded contrast" was just that, a cleverly worded contrast, but really
not worth much of a comment, even though I think I did eventually
respond (in my own way, of course) much the same as you did below.

The "outburst" was not over the cleverly worded contrast. It was over
this piece of tripe:

"excellent post. racism is subtle. you have to be smart about racism and
codify the message to 'he's not like us', 'he's not one of us', 'he's
un-american', 'he's different', 'who is he really'."

Sorry Ben, there's nothing "clever" there, there is nothing
"intelligent" there, nor is there anything worthy of discussion there,
other than the types of "discussion" that it brought on.

It's tripe, bullshit, nonsense, vomit spewing forth; whatever despicable
description one feels best fits (and I believe they all do) to imply
that because one doesn't like a black man (or a white man, or any other
color man), it MUST be because of his race, and all of the legitimate
reasons are really just covers for racism.

I would have said that Pete's tripe, bullshit, nonsense, vomit spewing
forth was a discredit to him, but I think it really is probably the best
he can do.

And, it was fun to respond. I like putting bigots in their place.

Ask the guy how he feels about people of faith.
