Paul,

You may think that you are not in the 5% but consider the new tax laws in
committee in Congress.  The hearings about doing away with the 401 k's as
mentioned in a post by Brad also does away the the associated deduction
against gross income.  That means anything that you are putting into your
401 plan that has an associated income deduction from gross is bye bye.  So
for those putting $10,000 a year into a retirement that deducts that amount
from gross can no longer deduct thus makes your gross go up by $10,000.  And
they are looking to do away with more deductions for 'Rich' folks.
