[Rhodes22-list] Lake Hartwell Rhodie gathering cancelled.

Rummy, that's unbelievable. I can't even picture a lake that is 19 feet
below normal, much less 25 feet. If any of you at Hartwell (even Ed, if he
promises that we won't talk about politics) get a sailing jones this fall or
spring, I'm only a day's drive away.

Rummy, That sucks. We are low on rain as well but TVA is able to maintain
water levels (somewhat) by controlling release levels at the dams. Part of
their mission is to maintain the channel to a "navigable" depth of 9 feet.
We also have a rain forest that feeds the river. My Marina is called Blue
Springs and is named after a fresh water spring that feeds the river. The
end result is we do ok in times of drought.

I hear Lake Lanier and many other GA lakes are in bad shape. My marina has
at least doubled in size over the last 10 years. Many from GA Lakes are
moving boats to Watts Bar.

A toast to a wet winter!
