It was said on this forum, "Now if that doesn't make him a socialist, I don't
know what does."

It is deplorable that an allegedly educated American (?) does not understand
what socialism is. Consider the definition cited on this forum recently,
“The intent of the taxation and distribution of income today has come to
mean “equally share the standard of living”, without regard to contribution,
risk, achievement, etc. This is called Socialism, etc., on the street in
2008.”

It is even more cynical to fall for and repeat a rhetorical ploy. What is
going on is use of media to divert honest people from the truth.

Consider other comments made about Obama, “Despite the media hype that we
need to rehabilitate ourselves in the eyes of the world, the United States
of America remains the number one destination of immigrants from around the
world, some of whom take desperate chances with their lives to get here,
whether across the waters of the Caribbean or by crossing our dangerous
southwest desert.” Thomas Sowell

Or on a more serious matter, what is socialism all about? The revolutionary
heart of Marxism (aka socialism) is a simple conviction: It is necessary to
change the world. This conviction is the “vision of man's mind displacing
God as the creative intelligence of the world. It is the vision of man's
liberated mind, by the sole force of its rational intelligence, redirecting
man's destiny and reorganizing man's life and the world. It is the vision of
man, once more the central figure of the Creation, not because God made man
in His image, but because man's mind makes him the most intelligent of the
animals.” Whittaker Chambers

Freedom is a stake, kapish?
