[Rhodes22-list] Storm Preps

We are watching the track like hawks. Right now it looks to be a rain
event and a very quick moving storm. We are leaving the boat in the
slip as maximum gusts expected don't seem any worse than we get with
thunderstorms. If the storm goes well to our east we may get the
opposite of a surge with the wind blowing water out of the bay. If it
tracks a bit west of the current forecast track, we may see a slight
surge. If it goes west of the bay we could be in trouble though this
is not as strong a storm as Isabel (which was "only" a tropical storm
when she did all that damage in 2003). If it looks to be more of a
wind event we'll remove the jib and tie down the main as best we can.
We also discovered that with some very careful maneuvering, the
bimini will fit in the cabin.
We're watching Ike as well. For a stronger storm we would probably
pull the boat which is what we did for Isabel. We parked the trailer
in the highest point in the boatyard and were really fortunate that
she didn't float away. Water came a little over halfway up the tires
on the trailer.
