Lou,
I simply let the main sheet do whatever it wants on the cockpit  
floor.....just as long as it doesn't get snarled. I usually sail with the main  sheet in 
one hand and the tiller in the other.  You need enough main sheet  to allow the 
boom to swing into a wing on wing position. Any more than that and  it's just 
a lot of extra line to handle.

I totally understand!   I may have limited one  person's seating in  
fact but hey,  the Rhodes can handle 4 plus  myself especially if  
someone doesn't mind laying down on the  settee!  I don't have that  
many friends anyway!

Still  trying to see how much mainsheet I actually need because I hate   
having to coil it after every sail and it s getting messy during the   
sail also..any suggestions?
