Ed,
those are Rocna or Manson (cheaper) anchors.....Rocna 22# (for boats 23'-36') is only @ $400...;^)...the equivalent 25# CQR for boats 16'-32' is $559....

The 22# Delta for boats 25'-41' is @ $175....

HI, Pete,

Thanks for the thorough, as usual, reply.

At our local "got-one-of -everything- somewhere-" marine guy I have located a 25 # CQR for $225...and a slightly smaller Delta (he thinks @ 22 lb) for $50....Acc'd to the West catalog, either would work in this type of bottom....I see I did not mention earlier that there is wonderful mud under the leaves on the creek.....

My neighbor on the dock w/ the 37' Gulfstar uses the Bahamian technique...with the one center cleat on my Rhodes there is still the problem of the furling mechanism....

Is the bow eye backed sufficiently to allow it to be used as the attachment point?? Then the boat could ride into the wind....If it is not 'bow-to-wind' (cleated around the bow pulpit w/chafe protection) I think the strain on the anchor could be greater than anticipated. (Understanding I will use @15' of chain also)..

elle

We can't change the angle of the wind....but we can adjust our sails.
