I hadn't realized that anchoring was so difficult. I'm thinking it
might be easier to just tie-up to a big ship and hope I leave before
they do.

Yes, I saw your rant. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. My main
reference is experience plus the book
"The Complete Book of Anchoring and Mooring" by Earl R. Hinz.
The angle of the pull, size of the anchor and boat all make a
difference. As for Practical Sailor's tests, they are
comparative tests and even though they are not "real life" tests they
provide good information to make judgements
about various anchors.
