Brad posted a web site with a document by the GAO.  This document is an
excellant primer on what is causing the current financial questions about
mortgages and derivative finacial instruments.  See and read:

At least read to page 12, if not all.  It is worth your time to understand
what is leading to the mess.  I would say it is even your obligation to
understand.
