Andrew,
You do know that both business plans, yours and Wal-Marts, can be good.
The company I work for has, as part of their mission statement, the
"spiritual growth" of their employees. I personally feel that's
important. That's one of the reasons I've worked with the owner of the
company (in various capacities) for over 18 years, and why I'm now about
to become one of the partners in his business. We successful, though not
hugely so, (we do about 8 million in business a year).
Does that mean that I think companies that DON'T have that as part of
their mission statement are wrong or evil or just plain bad?
Nope, they just have a different focus. I can relate, understand, and
even live with it.
And I would never dare try to tell them they have to do it the way we do.
