Some years ago, I read a lot more than I do now.  I read many books about
George Patton, Jr. and by George Patton, Jr.  I also read the book by Gen.
George Patton, III.

I recommend reading the Patton Papers.  It is a big two volume set. Both
volumes are quite big, but not impossible.  I recommend starting with Volume
1.  There are times when both volumes drag a little, but overall there are
times you cannot put the book down even knowing the history.

There are many quotes of Patton or his immediate associates.  After you read
both volumes you understand the man, his methods and achievements.  

After you read both volumes, watch the movie.
