Hi Ed, I too just purchased (2 months ago) an 82 Rhodes 22 knowing that it
had hull damage below the water line. In talking to the service manager
where it had been stored on the hard for two years, he said that ANY damage
can be fixed with time & patience! His suggestion was to repair hull damage
from the inside first. Removing cabinetry & panels first. He said not to be
to fussy there as it will be covered by the cabinets & panels, then repair
the outer hull using West Marine epoxy products. There you will have to be
more carefull as to finish, etc. He indicated that this hull had been
dropped sometime before the previous owner took posession and that it was
not a real good patch job. I emailed Stan w/hull # but I guess they do not
track the older boats as to owners, etc. I am hopeful to get the "Sea Cat"
back to her original status & back on the water? Also aware that I can sell
the rigging & trailer for twice what I paid for them, but I like to
"reserrect" things like that. Best of luck-Bill Polt
