John,

I know I am not articulate enough to make the case clear for all List 
members' mindsets re the new support program we are trying to initiate to 
keep GB viable but I think here you are helping us make it.

You purchased a rig privately.  That is your right.  But we find it is our 
responsibility, if we are to continue to be here to the benefit of owners, 
to tell private sales that do not keep the pot boiling, to take up the time 
of the seller they gave the money to, to take care of that boat's problems. 
Nevertheless, it is because I have not been following good business 
practices and have been succumbing to all the "I only need a little pro bono 
time", that brought the residual issue to a head.

I can no longer argue with you if your thinking is that if there were such a 
Loyalty/Royalty program, owners who helped you should be the beneficiaries 
instead of GB, because your reasoning is putting the cart before the horse. 
When you can see that fact we suspect you will agree with our program's 
philosophy.

What ruffled our feathers in your e-mal was the inference that GB did not 
want to help you - when it was all the helping we have been doing in support 
of the rewarding of others, that got us here in the first place.  I don't 
remember what was said re your trailer incident but the tone you imply does 
not sound like us - most owners often do not appreciate endless related 
costs like S&H factors involved and I doubt that you would have gone for the 
real bottom line so I do believe you are not reflecting the intent of our 
thinking re that kind of work should be done locally.   Also, as an aside, 
GB did work on that other web site and then gave its production our 
blessings .

Thanks for the apology but none are due - we are just in this for the fun of 
it and are trying to keep it going for owners sake as much as we are trying 
to keep it going for our pleasure.
