[Rhodes22-list] Kindle versus Sony Touch Reader, Experience?

Guys,

Earlier this summer I had the privilege of enjoying the benefits of a Kindle while hauling my boat from Pullman, WA. to Eugene, OR.  My wife was experimenting with her recently bought Kindle, and began reading to me excerpts from books.  Can you find anything about sailboats? I asked.  She found many books about sailboats, and sailing.

Hauling my boat became much more enjoyable as Donna read from John Vigor's "20 Small Sailboats To Take You Anywhere." We searched for books on Knots, one of which I purchased a hard copy (I wanted to see the picture illustrations).

It really made the trip fun, and with space at premium in small boats, it might be just what the doctor ordered, or the skipper for that matter.  To be able to browse and select reading material to reflect your mood seems like a good thing to me.

So Art; the kindle has passed the wife test with flying colors.

Caesar

Hey guys,
The Rhodes website is supposed to be for sailboating. Don't burden our in - boxes with your personal extraneous conversations etc. on things not of interest to we sailors!! Please send your stuff to individual "E" addresses in the future.

I am waiting for the next generation of tablets too.  Apple seems to be
  arranging
for magazine subscriptions, books, etc all available from the itunes
  store.  It
sounds like a more appealiing option.
