[Rhodes22-list] Motor Lift Repair - what material?

I have the same style lift. The lateral guides are made of an aluminum U
extrusion. The open part of the U faces in toward the motor. Stan will have
parts of course, and he has told me that there is a much more evolved lift
available. The plate that holds the motor broke on mine, and I got a
replacement from GB, which I reinforced with aluminum on the sides, and am
thinking of putting a .25" thick plate on the back for more strength.
