Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Compression Repair and Addition of Compression
Post
This is a link to a web page discussing the compression repair I just
did on
my 1998:
http://r22repair.hsbtx.net
It is easier to tell the story using a web page then trying to add
photos at
the end of a post. I am throwing this out there for people who may be
faced
with a similar situation. I understand now that Stan has a compression
post
kit made out of stainless. That might be the way to go, but I had the
boat
out of the water and this is the way I did it based on recommendations
from
the boatyard. So far, quite pleased with the results. I guess the
obvious
question is... does it interfere with going into the head. The short
answer
is "no" not really, though there is a bit less room to squeeze by. It
actually looks rather "salty" and the stain color matched the interior
pretty well.
David
